How far can you walk carrying a 22kg bucket?
Every day, millions of women and children carry 20-25 liter buckets of water from a well to their homes to meet their families' water needs.
Operation Water has launched an awareness campaign that will simulate this journey of carrying water.
We are excited about the opportunity to raise awareness for the importance of building sustainable water solutions to serve some of the most impoverished communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
1 liter of water weighs 1 kilogram. On average, these women and children carry about 22kg of water each.
While there is no exact dollar value to provide someone access to water for life, just $22 will empower Operation Water to provide sustainable, affordable access to clean water for one person for life.
